Co-expression
Redbiotec System (Controlled)
Controlled and coordinated expression from one vector coding for all different proteins at the same time leads to specific VLP or protein complex formation.

Conventional System (Uncontrolled)
Uncoordinated targeting of production cells by multiple viral vectors, each coding for a different protein. This unregulatedp rocess leads to either no or random products.

With the leading co-expression technology rePAX® (recombinant protein assemblies), up to 10 or more proteins can be generated in one production step. This allows for the efficient generation of multi-component virus-like particles (VLPs) and other protein assemblies.
Key features of the rePAX® technology
- Controlled co-expression of up to 10 or more individual proteins
- Flexible product design
- Rapid and parallel generation of new leads
- Fast, scalable, safe and GMP compatible production
- This enables the industry to access broader universe of functional VLPs and other protein assemblies
The rePAX® technology originated from the MultiBac system, developed at the ETH Zurich and is exclusively licensed to Redbiotec. Redbiotec is continuously optimizing the rePAX® technology by implementing new and innovative concepts.
